I had this on my test. I passed 3 days ago. It was simple. All you need to do is go to the core 1 switch and run the help and then use the cmd to look at the arp table and cross reference data. It's super simple on the test seeing it here did help.

Make sure you check the status of the connections linking core to access. The access switches are going to have the most relevant data of their MAC tables if they are not connected to the core switch. Might of been a trick but the tech who "prefills" some of the info I think just used the info he got from the core switch.

This question is definitely relevant for anybody taking the Network+ in the near future. Literally took my exam this morning and saw this PBQ. As others have mentioned, just type help and you will be provided with the following commands: show interfaces show ip arp show mac address-table show vlan I used the info from the core switch because the other devices' info didn't make sense, but that's just me. I hope this helps everyone who takes the exam. Good luck! Also, I passed with a 784. P.S. For anyone wondering if this site is trustworthy... YES IT IS! I'd say about 90% of my questions were literally word-for-word the same as this site. It definitely helped a lot.

I had this PBQ too. Passed the exam. Most of the questions are all on here. To complete this PBQ on the exam you have to go into the Core Switch terminal. Type '?' and it will list what commands you can use. The 'show interfaces' command will list all the mac addresses and IP addresses. It's confusing at first, but then it starts to make sense. You just have to read carefully and match up the right mac addresses to the corresponding VLANs and IP addresses. TBH, nothing worth memorizing here, because the VLANs for each device will depend on what you pick, and the order you put them in. One of the easier PBQ's IMO.

Were most questions that you found on the exam towards the very end of this dump? Or just scattered everywhere?

got this on my exam 3 days ago. You can click on the switches and use the 'help' command to show commands available. The top switch will have show arp table which has most of the information you need to complete the missing fields. All i remember is: device 1 : vlan 10 device 2 : vlan 10 device 3 : vlan 10 device 4 : vlan 20 Whatever info you can't populate from the top switch with Show arp table you will find in the switches connected directly to devices under 'show mac address-table' this should help you fill in all the blanks, don't panic, this exercise is actually quite easy

This one a little confusing for me. I'm assuming we need to open up the "command prompt on each switch and enter some commands. I'm not that great with "cmd" are we using cisco commands like "show ip interface brief" or will arp -a work?

It was on my exam and 100% same. You can type 'help' to see specific commands to figure out which ones you should use. It's little bit tricky (loooots of info/numbers...) so you will need some time for this question to answer. Also, there was another simulation question which is very similar with this one too. I recommend you practice simple commands on switches to find PCs' network information. If you can solve this question easy/fast, another question that I mentioned would be a piece of cake.

So on mine i just used the core switch to fill in everything. ? in prompt to see commands and use all. When i looked at the other 2 switches the info didnt seem to make sense. some fields will have info in them already so i was able to find everything in the core by cross referencing the ones that were already filled in. idk if right but only thing that made sense.

so i had this question in the exam and i am still stuck on one thing. so in the exam i was able to interact with the server and switches to review the config. by using the '?' command, it brought up the arp table, the interface stats, the mac table and something else. by using this command i was able to narrow down which computer had which IP address and so forth. HOWEVER the data stored on each device had mismatching values, and i was not able to use a ping command. I ended up having to take an estimated guess on some, but im still trying to work out why and how the switches and servers had different ARP and MAC tables.
