A technician cannot uninstall a system driver because the driver is currently in use. Which of the following tools should the technician use to help uninstall the driver?
took me a moment to realize why msconfig was the solution.
You can use msconfig to reboot with selective startup and then the file is no longer in use and you can then uninstall it.
Open the Registry Editor by selecting Start, Run, typing regedit and clicking OK. Navigate your way to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall. In the left pane, with the Uninstall key expanded, right-click any item and select Delete.
Deleting the registry key for uninstalling something doesn't uninstall it.....
this reminds me of the time a tech in the place I worked, deleted the icon off the desktop and told the customer the application was deleted.
MSConfig is a system utility to troubleshoot the Microsoft Windows startup process. It can disable or re-enable software, device drivers and Windows services that run at startup, or change boot parameters. It is bundled with all versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems since Windows 98 except Windows 2000
