Selected Answer: B
Why it is B and not D.. B. Make sure a drive letter has been assigned. When a new SSD is installed, it is often formatted and partitioned, but if the drive does not show up in My Computer (or This PC), it might be because it has not been assigned a drive letter. Each drive must have a unique drive letter to be recognized in Windows Explorer. D. Initialize the disk in Disk Management: This step might have been necessary if the drive had not been formatted or partitioned yet. Since the technician has already formatted and partitioned the drive, initialization is probably not the issue. Therefore, the technician should first check that a drive letter has been assigned to the new SSD. If no letter is assigned, the user won’t be able to see the drive in My Computer. To assign a letter, the technician can use Disk Management.

You can't format and partition until the disk is initialized and they've already done that. If it's not showing after being formatted, it doesn't have a letter. It's B

You are overthinking it. Formatting a disk typically involves both initializing and partitioning the drive. However, in some cases, especially when using disk management tools, the initialization step might not be explicitly visible to the user.   The technician might have missed this step or the system might have failed to initialize the drive correctly. Therefore, manually initializing the disk in Disk Management is a valid step to resolve the issue. GG

You can't do B until you do D. You first need to Initialize the disk and THEN you can assign a disk drive. When you insert a drive you will nver see the drive in Winodws until you head over ot Disk Manager and Initialize then you can assign a drive letter. In all honesty this is more for 220-1102 then 1101.

If the BIOS recognizes the new SSD, but it does not appear in My Computer (or This PC in newer versions of Windows), the most likely issue is that a drive letter has not been assigned to the drive.(chatgpt)
