Docking station don't always need a USB port, that would be a port replicator. Older laptops had a port on the bottom that a docking station plugged into, specifically for that purpose.

I think its very common for everyone to refer to a port replicator as a docking station. I know I did until looking this up. This Messer video makes a clear distinction between the two - https://www.professormesser.com/free-a-plus-training/220-1101/220-1101-video/220-1101-mobile-device-accessories/. The answer is docking station.

Selected Answer: D
This is because a docking station can connect multiple monitors to a laptop without using USB ports, which are disabled in this scenario. A splitter cable would only allow two monitors to be connected, not three. A discrete graphics card would require opening the laptop and installing hardware, which may not be feasible or allowed in a high-security environment. An HDMI switch would only allow one monitor to be active at a time, not all three simultaneously.

Im going B because every other option in MOST cases use a Usb port while a discrete graphics is stalled dirrectly to the mother board and by passes the USB restriction.

I'm leaning towards C. You can use a HDMI switch, which can hold 3 plus monitors. The reason I'm not going with a docking station is because the usb ports are disabled and docking ports a typically connected through USB. It doesn't mention the HDMI ports are disabled, which are separate from USB and works just as well as the docking station when it comes to connecting monitors.

Definitely docking station. There's a lot of different docking stations that don't need usb connections and will likely have the necessary video outputs to connect to the three monitors. Plus, none of the other options address the request at all.

Is it right? Even if USB are disable, you don't need to have them as you can use docking station and use your 3 monitors by D) Docing station?
