During the kickoff meeting, a stakeholder raises a concern that an assigned responsibility is outside of the stakeholder's domain. Which of the following would MOST likely be the reason?
A.
The communication plan is outdated.
B.
The project manager did not assess the stakeholders.
C.
The project manager did not update the risk register.
D.
The statement of work does not reflect the impacted stakeholders.
This question is a prime example of how confusing CompTIA chooses to word their questions. Logically speaking Both B and D are correct, however which is more likely to happen? Not knowing (assessing) who your stakeholders are (one of the first steps in any project) or your SOW impact not reflecting your stakeholder?
It does not mention anything about the document being incorrect, but I think a SOW being done incorrectly is more viable than not assessing your stakeholders.
The most likely reason for a stakeholder raising a concern that an assigned responsibility is outside of their domain would be:
D. The statement of work does not reflect the impacted stakeholders.
If the responsibility assigned to the stakeholder is not aligned with their domain or area of expertise, it suggests a discrepancy between the defined roles and responsibilities outlined in the statement of work (SOW) and the stakeholders' actual domains. This misalignment could lead to confusion and inefficiencies in project execution. Therefore, ensuring that the SOW accurately reflects the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders involved is crucial for project success.
(CGPT) - The statement of work (SOW) is a document that outlines the scope of the project, including the deliverables, tasks, and responsibilities of each stakeholder involved. It serves as a contract or agreement between the project team and the stakeholders, providing a clear understanding of what is expected from each party.
If a stakeholder raises a concern that an assigned responsibility is outside of their domain during the kickoff meeting, it suggests that the SOW does not accurately reflect the responsibilities and roles of the stakeholders. The stakeholder may feel that the assigned responsibility does not align with their expertise, authority, or area of responsibility.
CGPT has changed its response...
"
B. The project manager did not assess the stakeholders.
If a stakeholder raises a concern that an assigned responsibility is outside of their domain, it suggests a potential issue with stakeholder analysis and assessment. The project manager should have conducted a thorough stakeholder analysis to identify and understand the roles, responsibilities, and concerns of each stakeholder. This analysis helps ensure that stakeholders are appropriately involved and aligned with the project's objectives. If this step is overlooked, it can lead to misunderstandings and concerns about assigned responsibilities."
