Selected Answer: C
The most likely resolution would be to replace the user's USB-C hub, option C. The key clues are that multiple peripherals connected through the USB-C hub have stopped working, even after restarts and alternate devices tested. This points to a power delivery or bandwidth issue with the hub itself.

The question does not state that the peripherals run through the USB-C hub. It just says that the printer, USB-C hub and AC adapter are connected to the laptop. I assume the conclusion of the answer being C is based on the assumption that everything is connected via the USB-C hub then this would make sense. Some clarity on this would be really great.

C. Replace the user's USB-C hub. Device drivers can be common problems, but with so many things at once it seems unlikely. Check Amazon for USB hubs and all of these things can be found on some multiport adapters.

C The most likely cause of the issue is that the user’s USB-C hub is faulty or incompatible with the laptop. The USB-C hub is a device that allows the user to connect multiple peripherals to the laptop using a single USB-C port. If the hub is not working properly, it may prevent the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and headset from functioning. The technician should replace the user’s USB-C hub with a new one that is compatible with the laptop and test the peripherals again. Verifying the AC adapter voltage will not help with the issue, as the AC

adapter is used to power the laptop, not the peripherals. Repairing the operating system will not help either, as the issue is not related to software. Reinstalling the drivers for affected devices may not help, as the issue may be caused by the hub, not the devices. Making sure the printer is not drawing too much power is irrelevant, as the printer is not connected to the hub or affecting the other peripherals. Since the issue involves multiple peripherals connected via the USB-C hub, replacing the hub is the most logical step to resolve the problem.

So reading the question again, it has to be C. My first objection was that they don't say those are plugged into the hub, but actually they do. They say "the user has a printer, USB-C hub, and AC adapter plugged into the laptop" and it's implying that nothing else is plugged in it, which means the rest is plugged into the hub itself.

I'm uncertain about the following: Which of the answers are the correct ones for the exam? Most voted: C ( USB-C hub) Tagged as correct: A (verify ac adapter voltage?!?) So is A the correct answer for Comptia exam?? There are other questiones asked the same confusing way... can someone please help? Thanks in advance!

C makes the most sense. The laptop is using a USB-C hub for the monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset. The USB-C hub is the single point of failure here. D is incorrect. axel.chayra is correct for all those drivers to fail at the same time is 'hiiiighly unlikely' E is incorrect. The printer draws power from an AC outlet, independent of the AC outlet used by the laptop.

ChatGPT says: "Given that multiple peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse, and headset) are not functioning, and the user has additional devices connected, it's possible that the printer or other connected devices might be drawing too much power or causing a conflict. USB-C hubs, in particular, can sometimes be a source of power issues. The technician should check the power requirements of all connected devices, especially the printer, and ensure that they are not exceeding the laptop's power capacity. If the printer or any other device is drawing too much power, it may cause issues with other peripherals. Disconnecting or replacing the problematic device may resolve the issue."

I would say its C. Most likely. Its a mouse, headphones being affected. Drivrs would have to be corrupted for each device for it to be drivers. Highly unlikely. The USB hub is likely causing issues for perpherials. Any question where its Most Likely is always a judgement call but I definatly think its C, the USB hub

The most likely cause of the problem is a driver issue. When a driver is not installed correctly or is outdated, it can cause problems with the peripherals that are connected to the laptop. Reinstalling the drivers for the affected devices is the most likely action that the technician should take to resolve the issue.

The odds of the individual drivers to fail for all those 4+ devices at the same time is hiiiighly unlikely.

If the printer is drawing too much power, it can potentially affect the functionality of other devices connected to the laptop's USB ports.

Check the device manager: Ensure that all the affected peripherals are recognized and listed without any warning or error symbols. If any devices show issues, update or reinstall their drivers as needed.
