Selected Answer: D
This ChatGPT's answer: Correct Answer: D. Full differential Explanation: A differential backup method copies all files that have changed since the last full backup. During a restore, only two components are required: the last full backup and the latest differential backup. This ensures that the restore process uses a single file from the differential backup to bring the data up to date. Why Not the Other Options? A. Open file: Refers to the ability of a backup application to back up files that are in use (open) during the backup process. It does not describe a backup method. B. Synthetic full: Combines a previous full backup with subsequent incremental backups to create a "synthetic" full backup. While this method involves incremental data, it does not match the description of using only one file during restore. C. Full incremental: An incremental backup captures only the files that have changed since the last backup (full or incremental). To restore, you need the last full backup and all incremental backups in sequence, not just a single file.

Selected Answer: C
The backup method that BEST describes the scenario is Full Incremental. Full incremental backups copy all files the first time and then only copy changed files in subsequent backups. The provided answer is correct.

But you have to restore all the incrementals from the point of the last full backup which is time consuming. Synthetic full builds more recent "full backups" by using the existing full and incrementals, creating one more recent full backup.
