according to ucertify: Testing that is done during product development is called formative testing. It is used to assess the usability of the in-progress product and the effectiveness of the current design direction. Testing that is done after the product is finished is called summative testing. It is used to assess the usability of the final product and see how well it compares to similar competitor products. So shouldn't the answer be formative, as summative has to do with how well it compares to similar competitor products?

furthermore, according to ucertify: Subjective and qualitative results, such as the opinions or gut feelings of the testers, do not matter as much in summative testing as they did in earlier formative testing when you were more free to make broad-strokes changes to the Web site. I am not sure if this indicates the answer should be summative, or formative in this case

D - UCertify - Here are some of the things you can test for in a summative usability test: Do users get confused when trying to accomplish certain tasks? Is there a pattern, specific tasks or places in the site where users tend to get stuck and pause? Do users miss seeing any of the items they are looking for? Are there any patterns? Do users click (or tap) the wrong button accidentally? If so, is it because the button is unclearly labeled or too small to interact with accurately? Are there any patterns? Do users have trouble remembering important information about the pages they have viewed? Are there patterns? Did any pages fail or take too long to load?

Number of clicks is an objective measurement, not a qualitative measurement. Objective measurements are part of summative testing.

Number of clicks is quantitative, but their should be no more than 5 clicks to complete a task.

also quantitative and qualitative are not forms of testing, they are forms of the data that is found during testing
