A web site designer is using percentage based dimensions to allow a web site to shrink or enlarge according to the browser and device screen size. Which of the following is the name for this type of design?
while that is true, the question is asking which is the name for this type of design; Ucertify does not mention fluid grid design, but it does mention that a responsive grid design uses fluid grids. I am not still not 100% but I believe the answer should indeed be A, responsive grid design.
A fluid grid uses percentage-based dimensions, which makes sure that even after changing the size of the screen, the proportion of elements stay the same. However, in a responsive grid system, the layout of an interface differs slightly or completely depending on the screen size it’s viewed on, and the elements stretch or shrink accordingly
Responsive Website Design (RWD): Websites that are built with responsive design use media queries to target breakpoints that scale images, wrap text and adjust layout so that the website can ‘shrink to fit’ any size of screen.
Adaptive Website Design (AWD): Websites that are built with adaptive design use CSS media queries to identify specific device sizes (e.g., iPhone, iPad, Android, etc.) and deliver a version of the website optimized for that screen. One of the problems with an adaptive layout is that you need to update your code whenever a new device is released, which isn’t ideal.
Fluid Website Design: Websites that are built with fluid design use percentages for widths.
I picked A on my exam and got a 50% score in color\typography\wireframing with PSI. The Ucertify book says, "A fluid grid uses percentage-based dimensions, which makes sure that even after changing the size of the screen, the proportion of elements stay the same."
