In a single-hop deployment, a Citrix Administrator needs to use a client’s IP address as the source IP address for Citrix ADC-to-server connections. Which Citrix ADC mode can the administrator use to meet this requirement?
USIP (Use Source IP) mode allows Citrix ADC to use the client’s original IP address as the source IP address for connections between the Citrix ADC and the backend servers. This is often required in scenarios where the backend servers need to see the real client IP for logging, security, or other purposes.
Why Not USNIP? USNIP (Use Subnet IP) mode uses the subnet IP address of the Citrix ADC as the source IP address for server connections, not the client's IP address.
Why Not Layer 2? Layer 2 mode is used for bridging traffic and is unrelated to source IP preservation.
Why Not Layer 3? Layer 3 mode is a standard routing mode for traffic, but it does not inherently preserve the client’s source IP unless combined with USIP.
