It cannot be answer A, Active write back is not recommended and should be disabled in non-persistent environments. I think Profile caching is then the best option, not ideal but if I have to choose, I think D is the best answer.

https://www.citrix.com/blogs/2012/11/30/to-cache-or-not-to-cache-that-is-the-question/ If the machine is not volatile, disable Active Write Back. Volatile = Non-persistent. therefore should be disabled in non non-persistent environments. i.e. persistent. This along with multiple sessions requiring sync, I go for A.

Active Write Back does seem to satisfy "Synchronize profile files in multiple session", even without the option "multi-session write back for profile containers". https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/profile-management/current-release/configure/active-write-back.html If you start a second session (at a second computer, for example), modifications made to a file in the first session are available in the second if it was started before you log off from the first.

Is the answer not to enable "multi-session write back for profile containers"? - Not one of the options here https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/profile-management/current-release/configure/enable-multi-session-write-back-for-profile-containers.html
