Scenario: A Citrix Administrator is in the process of creating a new machine catalog. The administrator discovers that the option to power-manage the catalog is NOT available. What is causing this issue?
A.
The Site database is offline.
B.
The Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) is NOT installed on the master image.
C.
The master image has a version older than 7.6 installed on the Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA).
D.
No resource connection is defined in Citrix Studio.
It's D. Machines are power managed through Studio or provisioned through a cloud environment, for example, VMs or blade PCs. This option is available only if you already configured a connection to a hypervisor or cloud service. https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/xenapp-and-xendesktop/7-15-ltsr/install-configure/machine-catalogs-create.html
D is correct. Even without a hosting connection, you can still connect to non-MCS VDAs and create machine catalog (similar to connecting physical PCs), and create DG from it. However, power management (auto scaling) wont be available..
No, the correct it is D because you can create a new Catalog with VM without VDA installed but when you wanna create a new catalog if the MCS o PVS option is disable the only reason is that the Site have not a hypervisor configured like VMware, hyper-v, Citrix hipervisor or azure
If the site database was offline, you wouldn't be able to even access Studio.
