Selected Answer: A
VSAN 11 traffic must be copied, so a SAN Traffic Monitoring session must be created not a LAN Traffic Monitoring Session.

It is A. I have ttwo identical variations of this question. One Monitor screenshot (this one) is in the LAN tab for a LAN monitoring with the options above: Activate a NetFlow monitoring session Create a SAN traffic rnonitoring session Set VLAN 11 as the traffic destination Select VSAN 11 as the source of traffic. Then i have another question: An engineer must implement a SPAN session that sends a copy of all VLAN 11 traffic on N5K_1 to the Traffic Capturing Device. The configuration that is presented is already applied to the Cisco UCS Manager. Which additional action meets the objective? (Refer to the exhibits) <Screenshot of the SAN Tab> Answer options: Assign the VLAN to the monitored port. Choose VLAN 11 under the VSANs section. Select the Clear Destination feature. Create a LAN traffic monitoring session.

Selected Answer: A
I would say A because of this on the official documentation: https://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/unified_computing/ucs/sw/gui/config/guide/141/UCSM_GUI_Configuration_Guide_141_chapter45.html Procedure Step 1 In the Navigation pane, click the LAN tab. Step 2 On the LAN tab, expand LAN > Traffic Monitoring Sessions > Fabric_Interconnect_Name. ....other steps... Note This procedure describes how to add sources for Ethernet traffic monitoring sessions. To add sources for a Fibre Channel monitoring session, select the SAN tab instead of the LAN tab in Step 2. Also there's a smaller chance for the image to be wrong than them putting in VSAN1 instead of 11.

I checked this on our UCS Manager and I don't see VSAN as source port in LAN Monitoring, though it's available on the documentation. I think the answer is B. Since it's also stated that monitoring FC traffic in LAN mode will monitor FCoE instead. We're using FCoE as per the diagram and when configuring FCoe, we bind VLAN to VSAN. A. As per the question, we need the action that completes the configuration with what we currently configured. B. I think this is the answer. C. This is not needed. D. There is no VSAN option, I checked it.

Traffic Monitoring Across Ethernet An Ethernet traffic monitoring session can monitor any of the following traffic source and destination ports: Source Ports Uplink Ethernet port Ethernet port channel VLAN Service profile vNIC Service profile vHBA FCoE port Port channels Unified uplink port VSAN Destination Ports Unconfigured Ethernet Port https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/ucs-manager/GUI-User-Guides/System-Monitoring/4-0/b_UCSM_GUI_System_Monitoring_Guide_4-0/b_UCSM_GUI_System_Monitoring_Guide_4-0_chapter_01100.html#task_D82AA59033B2492DB9A7D60CBCAA1D0C

It's probably typo and D is correct. Select VSAN 11 as the source of traffic VSAN can be source in LAN monitoring session. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/ucs-manager/GUI-User-Guides/System-Monitoring/4-1/b_UCSM_GUI_System_Monitoring_Guide_4-1/b_UCSM_GUI_System_Monitoring_Guide_4-1_chapter_01101.html

[D] Select VSAN 11 as the source of traffic. (Typo - the VSAN ID should be 11 in the choices).

Think it should be A. You cannot add a VSAN as a source for a LAN monitoring session. Take a close look at the picture: a LAN monitor session is configured, not a SAN monitoring session. B is wrong because a VLAN cannot be a destination. C is wrong because NetFlow has nothing to do with SPAN D is wrong because you cannot select a VSAN as a SPAN source in a LAN monitoring session.

A San traffic monitoring session has already been created. Select VSAN 11 as the source of traffic, not 1 there is a typo because the vsan should be 11.
