Another faulty question. 802.11r is for fast transition, but it does not have to be used in conjunction with 802.1X. In other words, option D is not a "MUST". You can use PSK for 802.11r, without 802.1X.

If you can use fast transition without 802.11X, then why is the answer D instead of C?

Because 802.1x is already marked, so is FT 802.1x

D is correct. Search for "Configuring 802.11r Fast Transition (GUI)" in following page: https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/technotes/80211r-ft/b-80211r-dg.html#task_2C619E3A576D474F80D6CB4BA8B4DBA6 Regards,

c'era una domanda simile che parlava dello stesso protocollo, ma tra le 2 risposte psk o 802.1x veniva scelta PSK

Does it imply that fast transition is usually applied in Enterprise mode if activation of 802.1x is required?

IEEE 802.11r-2008 or fast BSS transition And this may explain why D is correct: https://blogs.cisco.com/networking/what-is-802-11r-why-is-this-important

This feature was NOT mentioned in the OCG 😉, but by now you should know how cisco exams work.
