I would think that the question is describing the EDR. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/security/endpoint-security/what-is-endpoint-detection-response-edr-medr.html#~why-use-edr

Perimeter security means classically an internet firewall that is the first security appliance between the intranet and the internet. Probably an advanced NGFW with IPS capability, etc.

Which benefit does endpoint security provide the overall security posture of an organization? Let the demon queen break this down. Key words: endpoint security, overall, security posture, organization. The answer is not C as the key word in that answer is “edge” Network edge is the router that allows devices to access the internet from the internal network. Perimeter is the separate between the internet and internal network, just put a line through the edge router and turn that line in a box around the whole internal network. The question talks about endpoint security which is within the network perimeter.

You’re getting your edge and permitter mixed up. End points aren’t apart of the edge.
