EPGs are security zones for application-centric design. The network-centric design is more similar to what we have in non-ACI networks. No security rules at the beginning and EPGs are to group servers in VLANs. After the migration is completed, we start to create contracts etc.
I think C E makes more sense, EPG as a separate security zone, EPG to EPG requires contract to enable communication/traffic, as for B. microsegmentation this doesnt necessarily correspond to this question, also microsegmentation makes more sense for application centric approach
