Port Address Translation (PAT) (Option D)
Purpose: PAT, often referred to as NAT overload, translates multiple internal private IP addresses to a single public IP address by using different ports.
Requirement: A single public IP is shared among multiple devices, often indicated by the overload keyword in the NAT configuration.
Effect: Enables many users to share one public IP address while maintaining unique connections via ports.
The "overload" keyword indicates that PAT is being used, which allows multiple inside (private IP) addresses to be translated to a single outside (public IP) address, with different port numbers to keep track of each individual session. This is often referred to as "NAT overload" and is commonly used to allow many users to access the internet through a single IP address provided by an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
If you have no enough knowledge please do not write any comment, even a beginner knows the keyword (overload) means your are using PAT, so what port you are talking about?
Actually "overload" means you are overloading fewer inside global addresses (in this case, the single gig0/0 address), with more than one local addresses (to support multiple devices).
I think your thinking of the wrong kind of port, PAT is NAT overload: Port Address Translation (PAT) is also called as NAT Overloading. Port Address Translation (PAT/NAT Overload) is the NAT technology which prevents IPv4 Address depletion. Port Address Translation (PAT/NAT Overload) can map multiple Private IPv4 addresses to a single public IP address by using different source ports.
