"To a ethernet port" - So the router would be providing network to the laptop not router access. It is correct as straight-through

The cable between Router and Switch is straight-though. The cable from Switch to Laptop is straight-though, but to connect directly to a router and laptop, a crossover cable is used. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/access/1900/hardware/installation/guide/19cable.html#wp1052783
