During a meeting to gather the requirements for a new Wi-Fi network design, the customer requests that 802.11a and 802.11ac clients be able to connect. Which affect does this have to the wireless network?
Supporting both legacy 802.11a and modern 802.11ac clients on the same network will reduce overall throughput (due to additional management/multi-rate overhead and airtime inefficiencies when serving slower 802.11a devices)
I believe that having bot a and ac in same network means lower throughput. since the network should serve both, maximum data rate for 802.11a is like 54Mbps and for 802.11ac is like giga. Also having 802.11a client means more air time...
