From MS Copilot summary-address: This command is used on Autonomous System Boundary Routers (ASBRs) to summarize external routes that have been redistributed into the OSPF domain. It generates Type 5 LSAs (External LSAs). area range: This command is used on Area Border Routers (ABRs) to summarize routes within the OSPF domain. It generates Type 3 LSAs (Summary LSAs) to advertise summarized routes between OSPF areas. Task 1 router ospf 100 router-id 3.3.3.3 network 10.10.30.0 0.0.0.255 area 0 network 10.20.30.0 0.0.0.255 area 0 network 10.50.40.0 0.0.0.255 area 50 Task 2 router ospf 100 area 50 range 10.50.0.0 255.255.192.0

Task 1 would be: router ospf 100 router-id 10.0.0.1 network 10.10.30.0 0.0.0.255 area 0 network 10.20.30.0 0.0.0.255 area 0 network 10.50.40.0 0.0.0.255 area 50 network 30.30.30.30 0.0.0.0 area 0 Task 2 would be to add area 50 range 10.50.0.0 255.255.192.0 The given answer is incorrect

may I ask why you added the "network 30.30.30.30 0.0.0.0 area 0" command?

### Only type 3 = ABR or Area Border Router (we don't use "summary-address" for ABR) router ospf 100 area 0 range 10.50.0.0 255.255.192.0

do not include "no-summary" this makes it Totally Stubby which will not allow for Type 3 LSA's

actually no, if "area 50 stub" cannot be placed on the adjacent router as well, the adjaceny will fail. I believe simply the "area 50 range" command will allow just a summary LSA Type 3
