Maestro Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk147853 A single-site Security Group supports a maximum of 31 appliances. A dual-site Security Group supports a maximum of 28 (14 per site) appliances. The SK states, that it should be valid up to version R81.20 as of this day.

Best bet would be 28, however if this question is actually based on R80.20SP then they are all wrong. https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R80.20SP/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R80.20SP_Maestro_ReleaseNotes/Topics-Maestro-RN/System-Requirements.htm?TocPath=_____4#:~:text=Each%20Security%20Group%20can%20contain,MBS%2D7773%20in%20sk148074). The release notes state 24 appliances in a single security group when dual-site is used.
