Every single connection will be shared between two appliances - Active and Backup . So calculation = ( single appliance capacity x number of appliances ) / 2
1M x 2 / 2 = 1
When combining multiple appliances within a Security Group, the number of concurrent connections supported will depend on the specific configuration and the capabilities of the appliances involved. In most cases, the total number of concurrent connections will be additive.
If a single appliance supports 1 million concurrent connections, and you have a Security Group consisting of two appliances, you can reasonably expect the Security Group to support a total of 2 million concurrent connections. Each appliance within the Security Group contributes its individual capacity, effectively doubling the total capacity of concurrent connections.
