A(n) _____ rule is created by an administrator and is located before the first and before last rules in the Rule Base.

  • A. Firewall drop

  • D. Implicit drop
  • E. Implied
Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: E 🗳️
This is the order that rules are enforced:
1. First Implied Rule: You cannot edit or delete this rule and no explicit rules can be placed before it.
2. Explicit Rules: These are rules that you create.
3. Before Last Implied Rules: These implied rules are applied before the last explicit rule.
4. Last Explicit Rule: We recommend that you use the Cleanup rule as the last explicit rule.
5. Last Implied Rules: Implied rules that are configured as Last in Global Properties.
6. Implied Drop Rule: Drops all packets without logging.

yes, Explicit rules: The rules that the administrator configures explicitly, to allow or to block traffic based on specified criteria. Implied rules: The default rules that are available as part of the Global properties configuration and cannot be edited. You can only select the implied rules and configure their position in the Rule Base

The problem here is they dont say anything on whether the rules are implied or explicit. Causing mass confusion. B should be right based on the fact that there is no such thing called explicit before last.

B is correct for the first half of the question and E for the second half. An administrator can't make an explicit rule before the first rule in the rule base otherwise it would become the first... so it's a bad question... should be "A(n) __________ rule is created and is located before the first and before last rules in the rule base." (created by the SMS by default)
