question is from CCSE R80 guide:
There are different APIs for various Check Point products:
• Management API — Used to read information, create objects, work on Security
Policies and send commands to the Check Point Security Management Server. The
Management API has a JSON/XML web services option, a Gaia CLI from the R80.10
SmartConsole, the new mgmt_cli tool, and the Gaia Clish.
• Threat Prevention API — A cloud-based service used to control Threat Emulation,
Antivirus, and Threat Extraction products.
• Identity Awareness Web Services API — A web services API used to add, remove,
and show the status of identity parameters. For example, using the API, a new user can
be added to an Access Role or a user can be allowed to connect to the internal network
from a different IP address.
• OPSEC SDK — These APIs are used to open and monitor connections between the
Security Management Server and gateways, and other hosts and objects.
now in CCSE R80.40 v1.2 there is no OPSEC SDK in the list, but Management API, Threat Prevention API, Identity Awareness Web Services API are contained and added:
SMB API — REST API of Management Cloud Service for SMB gateways.
IoT API — Connects the discovery engine to the Security Management Server to provide asset information and security policies for Internet of Things (IoT) protections.
CloudGuard Connect API — RESTful API for managing cloud-delivered security for branch offices.
CloudGuard Dome9 API — Allows developers access to Dome9 entities (e. g. alerts. compliance rules. Clarity. access leases, etc...) and cloud inventory assets.
one more thing about OPSEC SDK:
Check Point's OPSEC (Open Platform for Security) integrates and manages all of network security through an open, extensible management framework. Third party security applications can plug into the OPSEC framework via published application programming interfaces (APIs). Once integrated into the OPSEC framework, applications can be configured and managed from a central point, utilizing a single Security Policy editor.
