During a policy installation, the CMI Loader collects signatures in the user space from multiple sources, such as Application Control and IPS. It compiles them into unified Pattern Matchers (one for each context). The CMI Loader is also responsible for sending PM data and application metadata to the kernel space. Due to the complex nature of the traffic that the Application Control, URL Filtering and Content Awareness Security Blades are responsible, the traffic must pass through additional steps or modules.
