I agree with you, since the question is about the process, and VPNK is designated as a module in CCTE R80.* book, but there is no mention of it in CCTE R81.20

"The VPN Kernel module, VPNK, handles VPN traffic functions within the Firewall kernel. IPSec negotiations, which are handled by the VPND user mode process, generate Security Associations (SAs). These associations are then passed on to th e VPNK process, which will perform the actual encryption and decryption of traffic."
