Answer A is correct for any iPhone under iOS version 15.1 or earlier.
However, if your iPhone is running iOS 15.2 or later you can use the "Forgot Passcode? option.
You'll have two options once you do this:
1. Use your previous passcode (if you recently changed it)
2. Or, fully wipe/erase the phone by authenticating your Apple ID account.
