Supplier involvement in production and process design can speed up the process, tackle any exigencies such as component shortages, lead time issues, documentation issues etc. The expertise from the supplier and their team can help minimise delays and make sure that the product is ready to reach the market on time. The quality may or may not be a factor under consideration here.
