CAM is used for storing the MAC address table in networking devices. It allows for quick lookups based on a MAC address.
TCAM is used for storing information related to Access Control Lists (ACLs) and Quality of Service (QoS) policies. TCAM allows for more complex matching operations, including wildcard and range matches.
