An AWS Region is:
B. A set of data centers spanning multiple countries.
An AWS Region is a geographical area consisting of a collection of data centers that are in close proximity to each other, located in a specific part of the world, and that are managed by AWS. Each AWS Region contains multiple Availability Zones, each comprising one or more data centers, which are interconnected via high-bandwidth, low-latency connections to provide high availability and fault tolerance.
e.g. US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia), US West (N. California), US West (Oregon) are 4 different regions, but they are all in US without spanning multiple countries. Instead they are more like specific location within a geographic area that provides high availability ( which is option A )
AWS Regions consist of multiple, physically separated and isolated Availability Zones that are connected with low latency, high throughput, highly redundant networking
