Selected Answer: D
Cost optimization in the AWS Well-Architected Framework focuses on designing and implementing systems that enable organizations to achieve the desired business outcomes while minimizing costs. It emphasizes maximizing the value of IT investments by eliminating waste, optimizing resource utilization, and choosing the most cost-effective solutions. In this scenario, the company's goal of paying only for the resources it uses aligns with cost optimization by avoiding unnecessary expenses. By leveraging AWS services such as pay-as-you-go pricing models, the company can dynamically scale resources up or down based on business requirements, optimizing costs by aligning them with actual usage. Additionally, the company's desire to avoid elaborate forecasting aligns with cost optimization as it allows the company to be agile and responsive to changing needs without the need for long-term commitments or complex capacity planning.

C. Reliability. They focus more on uptime than costs, they dont say anywhere they optimize for costs. pay for what you use is a 'by default' feature in aws, unless you go the reserved-route

C 3. Reliability The Reliability pillar encompasses the ability of a workload to perform its intended function correctly and consistently when it’s expected to. This includes the ability to operate and test the workload through its total lifecycle. You can find prescriptive guidance on implementation in the Reliability Pillar whitepaper. Design Principles There are five design principles for reliability in the cloud: Automatically recover from failure Test recovery procedures Scale horizontally to increase aggregate workload availability Stop guessing capacity Manage change in automation

The correct answer is D. Cost optimization. The AWS Well-Architected Framework is a collection of best practices and guidelines designed to help customers build secure, high-performing, resilient, and efficient infrastructure for their applications. It consists of five pillars: operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization. The requirements in the question align with the cost optimization pillar of the AWS Well-Architected Framework. The cost optimization pillar focuses on using AWS resources efficiently and cost-effectively by selecting the right resource types and sizes, leveraging elasticity to scale resources up and down based on demand, and using automation to optimize resource utilization. By paying only for the resources that it uses and being able to increase or decrease its resource usage to meet business requirements, the company is effectively using the cost optimization pillar to optimize its AWS usage.

Selected Answer: D
The pillar of the AWS Well-Architected Framework that aligns with these requirements is D. Cost optimization. The company's objective is to pay only for the resources it uses, which is a cost optimization strategy. The ability to increase or decrease its resource usage to meet business requirements is also an essential aspect of cost optimization. The cost optimization pillar is all about finding ways to optimize costs without sacrificing performance, security, or reliability. By paying only for the resources that are used, the company can save money and reduce waste.
