You can back up Amazon EC2 instances used by your workload as Amazon Machine Images (AMIs). The AMI is created from snapshots of your instance's root volume and any other EBS volumes attached to your instance. You can use this AMI to launch a restored version of the EC2 instance
The AWS services or features that provide disaster recovery solutions for Amazon EC2 instances are:
C. Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) snapshots: Amazon EBS is a block storage service for use with Amazon EC2 instances. EBS snapshots are point-in-time copies of an EBS volume that can be used to create a new volume or restore an existing volume. EBS snapshots can be used to recover data in the event of an instance failure, or to create a new instance in a different region or Availability Zone.
B. Amazon Machine Images (AMIs): An AMI is a pre-configured virtual machine image that contains the operating system, application software, and any other required components needed to launch an instance. AMIs can be used to create new instances in the same or a different region, which can be useful for disaster recovery purposes.
B. EC2 Amazon Machine Images (AMIs):
AMIs allow you to create pre-configured, reusable templates of EC2 instances. They are essential for disaster recovery because you can quickly launch new EC2 instances using AMIs in the event of a failure.
C. Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) snapshots:
EBS snapshots provide point-in-time backups of your data. You can use these snapshots to restore EBS volumes and attach them to new EC2 instances, ensuring data recovery after a failure.
B. EC2 Amazon Machine Images (AMIs): AMIs are snapshots of EC2 instances that capture the entire state of the instance, including the operating system, applications, and data. By creating regular AMIs, companies can use them to launch replacement instances in case of a disaster or failure. AMIs serve as a foundation for disaster recovery solutions.
C. Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) snapshots: Amazon EBS allows the creation of snapshots, which are point-in-time copies of EBS volumes. By taking regular snapshots of EBS volumes attached to EC2 instances, companies can create backups that can be used to restore data or launch new instances in the event of a disaster. Snapshots are stored durably and can be easily restored when needed.
AMI can help us to launch another instance with the same configurations. It uses the snapshot of root volume of the instance and other EBS volumes to create machine images.
