A Direct Connect gateway is a globally available resource. You can create the Direct Connect gateway in any Region and access it from all other Regions. The following describe scenarios where you can use a Direct Connect gateway. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/directconnect/latest/UserGuide/direct-connect-gateways-intro.html The scenario omits the fact that you will need a vgw (virtual private gateway) in all options. So I am presuming it is safe to assume that it is present and unmentioned

A - No brainer C - is using public VIFs it will not work B - No Direct connect GW how can traffic be routed to another region? D - Transit GW is a regional service you cant route traffic to another region with it - you need to either provision a new Transit GW on another region and peer it or use DX GW with a transit VIF

D is out you would not use a new private virtual interface here but a transit virtual interface.https://docs.aws.amazon.com/directconnect/latest/UserGuide/direct-connect-transit-gateways.html "You can use an AWS Direct Connect gateway to connect your AWS Direct Connect connection over a transit virtual interface to the VPCs or VPNs that are attached to your transit gateway. You associate a Direct Connect gateway with the transit gateway. Then, create a transit virtual interface for your AWS Direct Connect connection to the Direct Connect gateway."
