Selected Answer: C
The correct answer is C. Select the appropriate widget and metrics from the custom namespace, then add to the dashboard. When you are assembling a CloudWatch dashboard to display custom metrics, you first select the appropriate widget type that suits your needs (for example, a line graph, stacked area graph, or a number widget). Then, you select the metrics from the custom namespace that the CloudWatch agent is sending. Finally, you add this configured widget to your dashboard.

C is the correct answer. You can create a dashboard in CloudWatch to display custom metrics. To do this you simply create a dashboard, add a widget, and choose the metrics from the custom namespace. In this case the Administrator would choose the EC2 metrics.

CORRECT: "Select the appropriate widget and metrics from the custom namespace, then add to the dashboard" is the correct answer. INCORRECT: "Select the AWS Namespace, filter by metric name, then add to the dashboard" is incorrect. The custom namespace must be selected. INCORRECT: "Open the CloudWatch Logs console, create metric filters, and select the custom metrics" is incorrect. The custom metrics will be available in CloudWatch and a dashboard should be created to view them. This question is not related to CloudWatch Logs. INCORRECT: "Open the CloudWatch console, then from CloudWatch Events, add all custom metrics" is incorrect. The custom metrics can be viewed by creating a dashboard in CloudWatch, not by finding the metrics in CloudWatch events.

Neal Davis is answer that "Add a text widget, select the appropriate metric from the custom namespace, then add to the dashboard." is correct. A SysOps Administrator has installed the CloudWatch agent on several Amazon EC2 instances. The agent has been configured to send custom metrics to Amazon CloudWatch. The Administrator needs to create a CloudWatch dashboard to display these metrics. What steps should the Administrator take to complete this task? A. Open the CloudWatch Logs console, create metric filters, and select the custom metrics. B. Open the CloudWatch console, then from CloudWatch Events, add all custom metrics. C. Add a text widget, select the appropriate metric from the custom namespace, then add to the dashboard. D. Select the AWS Namespace, filter by metric name, then add to the dashboard.

Problem with B is the "text" widget. A text widget contains a block of text in Markdown format - it's not adequate for the display of metric values.

Correct is C not B. Add static text and images to label part of the dashboard by using a text widget.

C is correct. 'Text Widget' is of type 'text' and not 'metric'. It is sort of creating a text/label/description for your dashboard. You cannot select any metric in a text widget, so the second part ("select the appropriate metric from the custom namespace") in option B makes it a wrong statement. In option C they are asking you to select the appropriate widget, which basically assumes that you wont select a Text widget. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonCloudWatch/latest/APIReference/CloudWatch-Dashboard-Body-Structure.html#CloudWatch-Dashboard-Properties-Text-Widget-Object
