Snowball has default encryption enabled. Volume GWY is generally used to back up data from on prem to AWS/S3.. not the other way around.

You could have data in matter of days with Snowball, vs. "deploying" anything new with a 90 day replication window. The "low network bandwidth" and encryption in "transit" is clearly suggesting snowball.
