The statistic-values parameter allows the user to send statistical values for the metric, such as the Sum, Minimum, Maximum, and SampleCount (Number of Data Points) for a specific period. By using the put-metric-data command with the statistic-values parameter, the user can send the aggregate values (Sum of data, Min value, Max value, and Number of Data Points) to CloudWatch every hour.
