In CloudWatch, the time zone is not required to be supplied with each data point. CloudWatch uses Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) for all timestamps. When sending data to CloudWatch, the timestamps are automatically recorded in UTC. Therefore, the user does not need to supply the time zone explicitly.

If you are not supplying TZ then, it will take the current UTC time at the time of receiving.
