To create a custom submit action, you setup nodes and properties within the AEM repository. In addition, you define a JSP file named post.POST.jsp. When the user fills out the form and clicks the submit button, form data is posted to the post..POST.jsp. This JSP captures the submitted data and passes the data to a custom service defined within an OSGi bundle.
