According to the Repair (Closure) CPT® guidelines, what type of repair is reported when a single layer closure includes copious irrigation and extensive cleaning to remove particulate matter?
Under Repair (Closure), p. 94 CPT 2024 it states this exact definition under Intermediate Repair "single-layer closure of heavily contaminated wounds that have required extensive cleaning or removal of particulate matter also constitutes intermediate repair."
The repair as asimple repair CPT 1200-12018 BASED ON THE SINGLE -LAYER CLOSURE WITH. IRRIGATION AND EXTENSICE CLENING CONSIDERED COMPLEXITY IS DOCUMENTED
Intermediate repair is the correct choice. The D answer is just too redundant.
